Getting back into working life

It is been a week and half of my new working life as a mother. I feel that the brain is still runing in second gear, everything seems to take me a little longer and I forget things very quickly. Hopefully, I will get my brain cells back soon, somebody told that one of the many changes that happens to us, mothers, is brain cells... yes, aparently we do loose some...  but at some point they come back.

Working from home makes the going back to work affair so much easier, I can still spend time with the Miss, and keep to our rutine and work while she sleeps.  I will have to reassess when she starts sleeping less... anyway, I need some sleep so better go to bed now!!! buenas noches!

time flies

Tomorrow will be a month since I started my new job at CHH Woodproducts (time flies)! It is been quite hectic, I made a comment to somebody last week that I already need a holiday a "wee break"! :-). I like it, keeps my brain very occupied. My job is based in downtown now, and I bike to work or take the bus. I bought myself a smart ride card, so I get a discount every time I take the bus, but I have to say that it is longer for me to take bus or drive than biking, so I prefer to stay with the bike! Anyway, I like my job!

Desahogo

The interview

I had my interview with the new owner last week. It was only a half hour "interview", if you can call it interview, very informal more like a chat. They wanted to know "what do I do, and that was all", some of my coworkers weren't very happy with it, because it looked like they didn't even read the CV that every body provided. Some people have been working for the company for more than 20 years and haven't had an interview in a long time, they were a bit concerned about what to say, the type of question they will be asked! For somebody like me it wasn't a big deal because I have had three interviews already in past year and half that I have working in this company. Not by choice only circumstances! Forestry industry is never stable, it doesn't matter where you are. I run away from Chile looking for better scenarios, but it is the same everywhere. Some of my colleages are quite worry, the ones with young families and morgages must be going through a wave of stress!!! The new owners have already made their mind in some of the offices and some of the roles, but not all of them! 14 people have offers already, 14 out of Hmmm 100(at least!). I will be happy if I know the situation of my job before I go on leave! It will be nice to know! Anyway, holidays are getting closer and closer and closerrrrr! I can't wait to get into that plane (actually I don't like planes, my back suffers everytime I fly), I should say I can wait to get off the plane in Stgo!!! The 11, only 10 more days to go!!!! The hotel in Stgo is booked, the tickets to go to Pta. Arenas are ready, the track that we will do in las Torres is almost decided, we bought some souveniers to take to friends down there! So, we are slowly getting ready with all the things we need to do before we leave! Hamish gets more apprehensive as the date we leave gets closer, which is understandable, it will be interested (indeed!!!!) to see how he gets on with the language!!!! I will try to post from Chile whenever I have access to internet, I am sure Jean will be interested to know some the details!!! Oh well, I better go back to work, now!!!!!
