6 week challenge.
A while ago I found this blog: "Aspiring Polyglot", while searching material about Mandarin. It is about a person that is working through becoming a polyglot, it has plenty of material about languages in general, very usefull links to other websites. Well since I found it, I have become a regular with probably several visits a week, and in one of my visits I founf this other web site How to Learn Any Language. This site is just fascinatinG! I joint one of their current challenges, study a language for 6 weeks and see how much you can learn, also compare experiences with other people. The language you select has to be one that you haven't study before. They had a couple of options, that I very carefully analyzed and finally decided to go for Swedish. Why? Well....,
My resources are going to be:
"I have to add that my six week will be focused on reading and writting"
- I thought about studying swedish before, (when I was in Oregon), but never had the chance to.
- Sweden is in the list of countries I would like to visit sometime; therefore, it will be handy to know a bit of the language.
- I am having a little break with Mandarin, so to spice it up a little bit why not to try something different.
My resources are going to be:
- Wikipedia (to learn about more about the culture, the country and history of the language itself)
- Teach yourself swedish, by Vera Croghan (I have the 2003 edition).
