De regreso a casa (back home)
Finally back home. The holidays are well over, but I have write in quite a long time laziness how I call it, or just lack of inspiration to write on the blog. Anyway, since the last time I wrote here quite a few things have happened. While we were away in Chile my lovely boyfriend proposed. Yes, we are officially engaged. Hamish was brave enough and asked me to marry him to which I answer :"Si". Now, the difficult part starts "to make it happen". There are a few decisions that we need to make in order to start with the planning. "The location" , given that I am from Chile and he is from New Zealand the location is not straight forward, becomes a bit more complex to organize. Well, that is basically decided after some exchange of opinions "of course" and because we both live in New Zealand, we decided that it will be here, where in NZ we are not sure yet. So far we have being engaged for 22 days, so do the math he proposed on the 1rst of January. "The ring" still needs to be chosen. I basically now what I want, a square ring. The Princess cut has cought my eye at first, without knowing anything about it. I like the square shape. After done a little research I found that this cut is becoming very popular, it was first developed in the 1960's. The shape was developed to enhance the spark of the square cut. It may have either 50 facets (21 crown, 4 girdle, 25 pavilion) or 58 facets (21 crown, 4 girdle, 33 pavilion) depending on how the pavilion is cut.
This is how it looks like. I like squares. Still, doesn't matter how pretty the ring is, I can't get over the price you have to pay to get one of this. I know that is "The engagement ring", and that is very important. Anyway, my heart says that a ring can't measure my feelings. The size/type/colour of the ring is not going to change my love for Hamish. It will take me a little while to get over, but hopefully I find the ring with the 3B's (Bueno, Bonito and Barato). Lots of planning to come, I would love to have mother and sister with me to help me with the preparation of everything, to select the dress, the flowers, the bridesmaid's' dresses, the wedding invitations, all those little things! I guess I will have to use the Internet to help, emailing back and forth! I can always borrow Hamish's mother I suppose, if she let's me! Many things going on in my life at the moment, also with this re-structuring at work, I was left with no position. So, I have been hunting for jobs. I have sent 2 applications, and I have 2 interviews coming up. I hope everything goes well. 1 more week to go in my current job. Hamish has turned 30.... YES... and I am following him closely behind...Life keeps moving very quickly. We had a party, a barbecue some friends around home! He blew 30 candles that were laid out nicely in a homemade cake! Enough for today, I guess I need to get ready for this interviews that are coming! Still I need to upload more pictures from Patagonia!
